The Double Cleanse

Before the Double Cleanse

So most times when we are washing off a full face of makeup we don’t really think about if all the makeup has really washed off. People say wearing makeup clogs your pores and creates breakouts, but I really think it is not wearing makeup that causes this but not washing it off properly! I started to wash off my makeup using the Double Cleanse method and I noticed such a huge difference in how my skin felt and looked after wearing makeup! It was totally smooth, clear, and had a natural new glow!

The Double Cleanse Requires 2 Steps

Step 1 - Clean off the makeup first using either a heavy duty cleansing balm or a cream cleanser. Some people use makeup wipes but I think makeups wipes are really too harsh on your skin and cause tiny microtears in your skin which leads to breakouts and other problems later. So try and stick to cleansing balms or cream cleansers for this step. I have also some people use olive oil or coconut oil for this step. Once you have rubbed the cleanser all over your face use a damp washcloth to wipe away all that makeup.

Step 2 - This is my favorite part and I always end up give myself a mini face massage during this part! Take an oil cleanser or another cream cleanser (one that is gentler) and rub it gently all over your face including your eyes. If you are using an oil cleanser that also has additional benefits added into it you can do a face massage in this step to get all of the makeup that was left behind. Take a second damp wash cloth and wipe away all of your makeup. You’ll see all of the residual makeup that was left behind that you didn’t get in Step 1!

Follow with your favorite skincare routine to end your cleanse! Do this and you’ll notice immediate results in how your skin looks and feels - I know it!
