Multi-Masking
Okay, so what is multi masking and why even do it?! I’ll tell you what, multi masking has been my method of masking for years and I didn’t even know it was a thing till I started reading more people doing it! This method of masking will not only save you time but it will give you even greater benefits than just applying one mask.
Multi masking can be 3 different methods.
Apply multiple masks one after the other
Mix masks together to make one new mask and apply
Zone Multi Masking (this is where you apply different masks to different parts of the face depending on your skin condition in that region.
I prefer to mix masks for my current skins needs. If my skin if looking dull and tired I will mix a skin brightening mask with an exfoliating mask or if my skin is dry and tight I will mix a moisturizing mask with a fruit enzyme mask. By doing this you create new mask that works for your skin at that moment and is even better than one mask!
One thing to note when you are multi masking by either mixing or layering masks that you make sure the ingredients in both masks will work together. You do not want to apply a very heavy mask under a lighter one because the heavier one will just block the absorption of the lighter mask.
Note - I have never tried Zone Multi Masking but that is because my skin is generally the same all over but this is a great method to use if you have acne in one area and completely clear skin in another.
Check out my video here where I multi-mask with two of my favorite Elemis masks - The Superfood Vital Veggie Mask and the Thousand Flowers Peptide Mask:
I hope you will introduce multi-masking in your skincare routine and I would love to hear how it has benefited you. Also, if you have any questions about which masks to multi mask in your skincare arsenal drop me a line below.
