Easy Smokey Eye Using 4 Eyeshadows
Hi all! The end of summer is almost here and I’m kind of longing for nice cool Fall nights going out and rocking some evening makeup looks! One of my favorite looks to do when I’m in a hurry but still want to look like I put in some effort is a quick smokey eye. Smokey eyes do not need to be very complicated and they’re so easy to do when you have the right products and these steps below!
You will need:
A warm toned eyeshadow palette with a light brown color, dark brown color, black color, and a light creamy-beige shadow color
Nice creamy long lasting eyeliner pencil
Four eyeshadow brushes ranging from fluffy to medium blending to small detail brush
In my You Tube video (linked below) I am using the Blush and Glow Cosmetics “Jetsetter” Eyeshadow Palette, Blush and Glow Brushes Pointed Blender Brush, Medium Blender Brush, Detail Brush, and the “Ninja” eyeliner pencil. All the links to the products will be at the bottom.
The trick to doing a good smokey eye is to not apply the black all over the lid and to look like the colors all blend together and go from dark (center of eye) to light (further out you go). And of course BLEND BLEND BLEND as you apply! If you watch my You Tube or Instagram makeup videos you’ll notice I always blend while I’m applying eyeshadow. This helps everything looks really soft and seamless without any harsh lines.
So let’s get to the steps of this easy smokey eye!
STEP 1: Take a fluffy eye blending brush (I’m using the BG Pointed Blender Brush) and swirl on a light brown color on the crease of your eye from your eyeshadow palette. In the Jetsetter Palette I am using “Desert” in the video.
STEP 2: Take a smaller fluffy blending brush (I’m using the BG Medium Blender Brush) and swirl on a darker brown color right below the area you just applied the light brown color. In the Jetsetter Palette I am using “Jet Lag” in the video.
STEP 3: Line the bottom of your eye in a thick line using the creamy black eyeliner pencil. Here is where I am using Ninja from Blush and Glow.
STEP 4: Sweep the black eyeliner pencil all over the top of your lid in the center below the area where you applied the dark brown shadow. This is where it kind of looks scary because you have black eyeliner ALL OVER your lid! But don’t fear it all blends together and looks AMAZING in the end.
STEP 5: Using the Medium Blender Brush again lightly blend the eyeliner on your lid staying within the center of your lid.
STEP 6: Using the Medium Blender Brush and dip into your black eyeshadow color. Make sure you TAP OFF any excess eyeshadow! This is sooooo important. I’ve seen so many makeup looks ruined because there was too much black shadow on the brush and the powder just fell over their cheeks and undereyes. After tapping off the excess, tap the black shadow all over the areas you put the black eyeliner. For the bottom eyeliner use a small brush like the BG Detail Brush to swirl on a little black eyeshadow. In my video I am using the BG “Black Sand” color from the Jetsetter Palette
STEP 7: Using a small blending brush (like the BG Detail Brush) you want to lightly brush on a creamy-beige color right under your browbone to highlight that area. I am using the Cashew color from the Jetsetter palette here.
STEP 8: Apply mascara and voila!! Easy smokey eye is done!!
